Country Meat Shop is owned and operated by Mark Reynolds. Along side Mark is full-time meat cutter Allen Carter. Allen has worked for Mark for 15 years. All specialty and smoked products are made in-house. We only cut USDA choice grade (or higher) steaks. We grind burger daily from whole roasts. We use only the premium parts of the chuck for burger. Our goal is to provide our customers with the freshest meat possible at the best price.
Mark is a 4th generation meat processor and has over 30 years of experience in the meat industry. Mark's great-great grandfather started Moberly Packing Company in 1934 which produced Little Dixie hams, bacon, & other smoked meats. Moberly Packing Company suffered a devastating fire in 1989 and was not rebuilt. Mark continued his meat career with Oscar Mayer for six years. In 1995 Mark and his brother Dan decided to revive the Little Dixie brand and worked to develop new products and marketing for multiple brands distributed throughout the Midwest. In 2011, Mark decided to open a meat shop in Moberly. All Little Dixie products are now sold as Dixie Smokehouse and are sold exclusively at Country Meat Shop. Since opening in 2011, we have earned over 100 awards for our specialty meat products.
