Country Meat Shop is owned and operated by Mark and Lara Reynolds. Along side Mark is full-time meat cutter Allen Carter who has worked for Mark since 2002.
Mark is a 4th generation meat processor and has over 40 years of experience in the meat industry. Mark's great-great grandfather started Moberly Packing Company in 1934 which produced Little Dixie hams, bacon, & other smoked meats. Moberly Packing Company suffered a devastating fire in 1989 and was not rebuilt. Mark continued his meat career with Oscar Mayer for six years. In 1995 Mark and his brother Dan decided to revive the Little Dixie brand and worked to develop new products and marketing for multiple brands distributed throughout the Midwest. In 2011, Mark decided to open a meat shop in Moberly. All Little Dixie products are now sold as Dixie Smokehouse and are exclusively sold at Country Meat Shop.
All specialty and smoked products are made in-house. We only cut USDA choice grade (or higher) steaks. We grind burger daily from whole roasts. We use only the premium parts of the chuck for burger. Our goal is to provide our customers with the freshest meat possible at the best price.
Since opening in 2011, we have earned over 150 awards for our specialty meat products. Our specialty products have won awards at the state level, national level, and international level.
Mark is very active in the Missouri Association of Meat Processors organization, including previously serving on the Board of Directors as both Vice President and President. MAMP is made up of small to medium sized meat processors and is an organization dedicated to helping its members grow their business and learn new skills.
In addition to our MAMP awards, we also have awards from AAMP (American Association of Meat Processors) and IFFA (German Butchers' Association).
